i lost a wave in '79

It is so thrilling to see mixed gender on the water. In the old days Girls where not invited -that is if your last name wasn’t Dunkerbeck that is!

But back in the 80’s the girls were too polite leaving the waves to the boys. Luckily this has changed and the girls are not afraid to take up the challenge. In all honesty the girls I have seen lately a doing better than most of the boys – Well done girls!

Boys – stop chatting on the beach! Go out and chase the next bold jump – Remember it’s out there you’re getting better!

I’ll be out again tomorrow enjoying some great surfers – girls or boys, young or old, kite surfers or windsurfers.
